The Great Barrier Reef is the largest living ecosystem in the world today. Most people don’t know that much of the world’s petroleum deposits were formed millions of years ago from reefs not unlike our Great Barrier Reef.
Until the world can develop cheap accessible alternative energy sources, we continue to need petroleum, but not at the expense of the Great Barrier Reef, or any ecosystem in the world.
